What CEI is investigating

CEI’s work is organized around foundational clinical questions:

Essays and clinical writing

CEI publishes essays about the clinical situations therapists regularly encounter and rarely receive enough help understanding. The essays examine what happens when rapport conceals stagnation, attunement replaces clinical judgment, interventions precede understanding, or the therapist’s own responses become part of the clinical material.

Each publication offers clinicians a way to think more clearly about what is happening and what the work requires.
