Beginning Depth-Oriented Psychotherapy

Beginning therapy in this practice is a deliberate process. The work here is structured, depth-oriented, and designed for individuals who are ready to engage consistently and responsibly in meaningful change. For that reason, the inquiry process is intentional rather than open-ended.  This page is intended to help you determine whether this work is a good fit before reaching out.

Before Inquiring

This practice is organized around weekly, full-fee psychotherapy held at a consistent time. Structure is not an administrative detail here—it is a central clinical condition that makes the work possible.

Before initiating contact, please consider the following:

  • Are you able to attend therapy weekly, at the same time each week, for the foreseeable future (8am-1pm)?

  • Is the financial investment ($150/50 min session) manageable for you without ongoing strain, resentment, or negotiation?

  • Are you seeking structural change, not simply short-term relief or reassurance?

  • Are you willing to engage in work that may feel challenging before it feels better?

If these conditions feel broadly feasible, you are likely in the right place to continue.

The Inquiry Process

If, after reviewing the site, you feel aligned with the orientation and structure of the practice, the next step is to submit an inquiry.

The inquiry process typically unfolds as follows:

  1. Initial Contact:  You may reach out via the contact form on this site. Your message does not need to be detailed or exhaustive. A brief description of what brings you to seek therapy at this time is sufficient.

  2. Screening Considerations:  All inquiries are reviewed with attention to clinical fit, readiness for the structure of the work, and current availability. Not every inquiry results in a consultation, and this is intentional.

  3. Consultation (When Appropriate):  If the practice appears to be a good fit, you will be invited to a brief consultation to clarify logistics, orientation, and next steps. This conversation is focused on alignment rather than assessment or intake.

  4. Beginning the Work:  When we decide to proceed, sessions are scheduled weekly at a consistent time, and the therapeutic frame is established clearly from the outset.

Screening and Fit

This practice is selective by design. Depth work requires specific conditions, and not all therapeutic arrangements support the kind of reorganization this work is oriented toward.

You may wish to reflect on the following questions before reaching out:

  • Am I entering therapy because something fundamental needs to change, not just because things feel hard?

  • Have I already tried insight-based or supportive therapy and found it insufficient on its own?

  • Can I tolerate structure, boundaries, and consistency without experiencing them as restrictive or punitive?

  • Am I willing to take responsibility for my participation rather than expecting therapy to adapt around instability?

If several of these questions feel like a stretch, this may not be the right fit at this time—and that information is important.

Fees and Structure

Sessions are 50 minutes and held weekly at a consistent time. Client sessions occur between the hours of 8am and 2pm Mon-Fri.  The current fee is $150 per session.

This practice does not offer sliding scale, reduced fees, or insurance billing. The work is best suited for individuals for whom the financial and temporal commitment is feasible and does not create ongoing tension.

This clarity is protective—for both client and clinician—and allows the therapy to remain focused on depth rather than logistics.

What This Process Is—and Is Not

Beginning therapy here does not require certainty, confidence, or having the “right words.” It does require a willingness to engage consistently and to remain present through discomfort without rushing toward resolution.

This is not crisis-only care, not drop-in therapy, and not an open-ended exploratory arrangement without direction. The work is relational, attuned, and serious—held within a stable and predictable frame.

Next Steps

If, after reviewing this page and the rest of the site, the structure and orientation of the practice feel aligned, you are welcome to submit an inquiry.

If not, you are encouraged to seek care that better matches your current needs and circumstances. Finding the right fit matters.

This work is entered deliberately—because depth requires conditions.
